Many people consider important or are curious about the opinions of other patients who have gone through the same treatments, so in Vistalaser Ophthalmology we thought it would be interesting to interview some of our patients who underwent refractive surgery, intraocular lens implantation or cataract surgery to share their real stories.
What was your vision problem?
In this video series our patients answer to simple questions and relate their experience. Some patients were operated by femtosecond LASIK or implantable lens to correct nearsightedness and astigmatism, and there is a patient who underwent surgery for cataract by phacoemulsification.
How was the process of the operation
Then the patients themselves tell us how was the process before and during operation. Before operation all patients underwent ophthalmologic test to evaluate the ocular health of the patient and to determine what may be the most appropriate treatment.
Some patients are surprised because they had some preconceived ideas about the treatment before coming to Vistalaser Ophthalmology, after completing the tests and in his interview with the specialist in ophthalmology they discover that for the same problem we can offer various treatments.
For example there are patients that come with the idea of operating their myopia with laser, however when we evaluate data from the tests we see that the best solution in your case may be intraocular lenses for myopia, and vice versa, and there are even patients who can not be operated in other clinics by physiological factors, but thanks to our technology we can operate them.
When the patient has diseases such as cataracts or presbyopia in addition to solve the problem, we can correct other refractive patient’s problems, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism, so we reduce and even eliminate their dependence on glasses or contact lenses.
Have you improved your quality of life?
The day after the operation, when you get up from the bed and one does not need glasses or contact lenses to see well, is perhaps one of those priceless moments that many patients remember with greater satisfaction.
Cataract surgery patients at first notice biggest difference in low light situations, where before they saw a fuzzy line now they see clear that there is a step or a slope, and this prevents a large number of slips and falls, especially from certain ages where they occur more easily hip fractures.
In any case the quality of life of patients increased significantly, both in their work in their free time, because we went from being limited by an optical correction to enjoy our field of vision to its full extent without fear of losing a lens or break a pair of glasses.

How to summarize their experience in Ophthalmology Vistaláser?
Fortunately for many patients who have no other serious problem, the eye operation can be the best you have in your life to improve your health. For us it is really important good manners with the patient and invest in the latest technology to achieve the best possible result.
Some people have heard stories from friends or relatives, with painful recoveries of several weeks or blades to cut a thin layer of tissue. Vistalaser Ophthalmology performs modern laser treatments where the patient does not notice anything, no pain or discomfort, the procedure lasts a few minutes and within hours you can lead a normal life.
The intervention is so fast that many people take a while to assimilate the change, it is common that some patients remain gestures such as adjusting the eyeglass frame when in fact they no longer carry on, or worry about lenses when you no longer need. The convenience of not relying on an optical correction is one of the things they value most.
